SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND APPLICATIONS OF EMERGING NANO-MATERIALS (MXene)

Event Details

MXene is an emerging nano-materials discovered in 2011. It has outstanding energy storage, electrical, optical, thermal, electrochemical, photo-thermal conversion, stability, waste water treatment, corrosion resistance capability. MXenes are produced from the transition metal carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides. MXenes are produced by removing/etching ‘A’ layer from MAX phases. We are the first in Malaysia who successfully synthesized this new material. Brand new state of art lab equipment such as High temperature tube furnace with maximum temperature 1800 °C, ball mill, high speed centrifuge to synthesize MXene is available in Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET), Sunway University.
