The Symposium is jointly organized by the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Sunway University, Sunway Medical Centre and the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The Chairman of the International Symposium Committee is Professor Sir Stephen O’Rahilly FRS, a world expert on the genetics of diabetes and human metabolic disease.
The Symposium will feature distinguished experts in the genetics and epidemiology of diabetes who will relate their topics to current and emerging healthcare issues in Malaysia and Southeast Asia such as the rise in incidence of diabetes, and its human and economic consequences.
They will also covert the recent advances in treatment and control ,and assess the future of potential of diabetes research, techniques and therapies.
